Europe’s Premiere YAP Combined With A Leading Artist Management Firm to Assure Young Artists Every Possible Advantage In These Challenging Times.
The Trentino Music Festival provides comprehensive training & exceptional performance opportunities and is the premiere Young Artist Training & Performance Program in Europe today. The focus is on professional development and ‘training through performance’. Young Artists sing leading & supporting roles in main stage productions with orchestra, perform on gala concerts, and take part in daily master classes. They work with world-class directors, conductors, vocal coaches, and voice teachers who are in residence for the duration of the festival, and receive artist management consultations and auditions with artist managers from the US and Europe. Former participants have been accepted into Young Artist Programs with the Houston Grand Opera, Washington National Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Metropolitan Opera, Santa Fe Opera, English National Opera, Merola Opera Program, Berlin Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper, and Operanhaus Zürich.

EXCEPTIONAL FACULTY ARTISTS – The level of success of any YAP lies in their faculty. The Trentino Music Festival provides an exceptional faculty including conductors, directors, voice teachers, and vocal coaches from the Metropolitan Opera, Dutch National Opera, English National Opera, Opéra National de Paris, Washington National Opera, Teatro la Fenice, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, and the Broadway Stage, in addition to Piper Artists Management, an internationally recognized management and production firm.
ROLE PERFORMANCE – As a member of the Opera Performance Studio you will be assigned a role to perform in a staged production with the Trentino Music Festival Orchestra. All artists are considered for cover roles that they feel will benefit their technical and dramatic aspirations as an artist. Additional performances include Opera Galas, Master Classes, & Concerts.
VOCAL COACHING, LESSONS & DICTION – Young artist are provided time each day to take part in vocal coaching and lessons to musically and stylistically prepare all roles assigned at the TMF, as well as additional repertoire that they are preparing for future performances and auditions.
MASTER CLASSES – Master Classes are an integral part of your training at the TMF and cover a wide variety of specialties including; vocal technique, performance repertoire, auditioning, operatic style, dramatic interpretation, language/diction, and cross over.
MANAGEMENT CONSULTATIONS & PROFESSIONAL AUDITIONS – With the uncertainty that the opera world currently finds itself in, young artists need to have every advantage possible as they launch their performance careers. The TMF is the only YAP in the world today that provides outstanding training and performance opportunities that is connected to a major artist management firm. Mitchell Piper is the Senior Artist Manager at Piper Artists Management and the President of OMAI – Opera Managers Association International the largest association of managers in the world today and has been instrumental in the launching of young singers careers for nearly two decades. At the TMF, advanced artists will have the opportunity to consult and audition for leading European managers that arrive in the final weeks of the festival. For those that are not yet aspiring to professional management, you will have the opportunity to take part in audition workshops, business seminars, and repertoire consultations.
No other YAP offers the opportunity for advanced young artists to actually sign a professional management contract. Alumni of the Trentino Music Festival that are now on the roster of Piper Artists Management include soprano Luise Breyer-Aiton (Grange Park Opera), mezzo soprano Maya Gour (Dutch National Opera), tenor Piotr Buszewski (Metropolitan Opera/Royal Opera House/Staatsoper Berlin), and tenor WooYoung Yoon (Orquesta Sinfonica National de Costa Rica), all of whom are all enjoying International opera careers in part due to their success at the Trentino Music Festival.

The Trentino Music Festival accepts video auditions only for the Opera Performance Studio. Applicants should prepare two arias in two languages with contrasting styles and upload them along with your application for consideration. Videos must be unlocked for viewing. The TMF has a rolling audition process with limited enrollment and all casting is done as auditions are submitted. Early applications are encouraged for best results. Successful applicants will be notified within ten days of their audition.
