The Trentino Music Festival
Attractions & Sightseeing
The Trentino Music Festival is held each summer in the heart of the Italian Dolomites a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A location has to be extremely special to appear on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. It has to present a unique, unspoiled natural landscape and be safeguarded by outstanding environmental laws. In terms of uniqueness, the Dolomites have outclassed any other place in the world for their beauty, diversity in natural landscapes and geological significance. The Dolomites, also known as the Pale Mountains with their fine beauty, are among the most imposing mountains in the world. Everyone knows of the unusual splash of colours lighting up their peaks, and the contrast between the soft lines of the rolling hills and the jagged, powerful peaks reaching for the sky.
The festival itself is held in the towns of Mezzano and Primiero in the spectacular Primiero Valley, one of the most breathtaking areas within the Dolomites. With historic Mezzano at the entrance, reaching up to the unmistakable panorama of the Pale di San Martino (the Coral Reef of the Dolomites), the region boasts a long and rich tourist tradition. Activities abound in the Dolomites. Whether you enjoy music, authentic food and wine, or outdoor sporting activities, there is always something to do in the Dolomites. For participants or visiting family members that want to venture out on weekends, the festival is only a short drive or bus ride to historical cultural centers such as Venice, Verona, Innsbruck, and Salzburg. Participants will be allowed ample time to explore the region and enjoy all that Italy has to offer. Have your friends or family take in the TMF performances and then plan the vacation of a lifetime.
“I will never forget the five weeks spent in Mezzano and Fiera, the beautiful music we created there, and all the wonderful new friends.”
For many of our young artists, this is your first trip to Europe. We believe that the time you spend in Italy should be musically enriching and artistically rewarding. Part of that experience includes enjoying one of the most spectacular regions in all of Europe and that is why we give you “weekends to explore”. The Trentino Music Festival offers proximity to a variety of cultural and recreational opportunities, whether walking along the romantic canals of Venice, or taking in an opera at the historic Arena di Verona, to hiking and water canyoning in the Dolomites – The Trentino Music Festival truly is a once in a lifetime experience that you will treasure for years to come.
