This summer, in the breathtaking heart of the Italian Dolomites, the Trentino Music Festival invites passionate young artists to step onto the stage in fully produced performances of Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte, Così fan tutte, and The Turn of the Screw. Each opera is performed with orchestra in a professional theatre, offering singers an authentic and immersive experience.
Participants receive world-class vocal coaching, voice lessons, master classes, and daily yoga—creating a holistic training environment designed to nurture both artistry and well-being. At TMF, excellence begins with our faculty: distinguished artists and educators from leading opera houses and top conservatories around the world.
Nestled in Northern Italy near Venice and Verona, our festival offers not only artistic growth but also the opportunity to explore Italy’s rich culture and beauty on weekends. Opera Studio – The studio is designed for talented young artists with a focus on training through performance. Our singers arrive from all around the world providing young artists with a rich cultural exchange that comes from performing with musicians from different cultures and countries in a beautiful international setting.
Faculty – The level of success of any training program lies in their faculty. Our faculty bring a wealth of artistic knowledge, musical experience, and stellar reputations in the opera profession. They are engaged by such leading institutions as the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, English National Opera, Mannes School of Music, UCLA, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Jacobs School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory, Royal Conservatory, and the Dutch National Opera Academy. You will not find a more qualified faculty in any YAP.

Role Performance – Opera Studio members are assigned leading or supporting roles to perform in staged opera performance with orchestra. Each artist is provided with vocal coaching, language, and musical rehearsals to prepare their performances.
Vocal Coaching & Voice Lessons – Through personalized vocal coaching and lessons, young artists gain the tools to meet the technical, stylistic, and linguistic demands of their roles with confidence. Our open-format approach encourages growth and collaboration, helping every participant reach new levels of skill and artistry.
Master Classes – Master Classes cover a wide variety of specialties including; Vocal Technique, Repertoire, Operatic Style, and Dramatic Interpretation.
Audition Packages – Even the most gifted singers can struggle to stand out in auditions. That’s why, at TMF, we help you Define & Refine your audition package with expert mentorship from top professionals. From crafting the perfect bio and résumé to selecting repertoire, perfecting diction, and elevating stage presence, every detail is shaped to make you shine.
Location – Set in the heart of Northern Italy, TMF offers an inspiring balance of art, culture, and natural beauty. With Venice, Verona, and Lake Garda just a short journey away, participants can spend their free time exploring Italy’s historic treasures or embracing the outdoors amid the majestic Dolomites.
Auditions – Young Artists are accepted by Video auditions. To apply, click “Apply Now!” and fill out the application and attach your audition video. Videos should include two vocal selections of varying styles.
Casting – If there are specific roles that you are interested in please indicate this in the area provided on your application.
Acceptance – We encourage early applications to ensure your spot in the opera studio. Once accepted, you’ll receive a comprehensive welcome package with everything you need to prepare for your summer in Italy—from travel and housing details to festival and payment information.
Cost – Despite its prestige, the Trentino Music Festival has maintained pre-pandemic tuition rates, making it one of the most affordable and valuable young artist programs today—with tuition and housing under $5,000.
