Why choose the Trentino Music Festival 

Young Artists – The Opera Studio is designed for talented young artists with a focus on training through performance. Last summer our participants came from over 20 different countries providing young artists with a rich cultural exchange that comes from performing with musicians from different cultures and countries in a beautiful international setting.

Training & Performance – Young artists are assigned roles in staged operatic productions led by world-class faculty artists and accompanied by the Trentino Music Festival Orchestra. In addition to staged operas, young artists perform in opera galas, concerts, and Master Classes. Training includes Voice Lessons, Diction, Vocal Coaching, Career Consultations – Presenting Yourself For Success, Mental Health Workshops, and the opportunity to define & refine your audition package  We provide unrivaled levels of artistic excellence at the Trentino Music Festival.

Exceptional Faculty Artists – The level of success of any training program lies in their faculty. At the TMF all of our faculty have a wealth of knowledge and experience and stellar reputations in the opera profession. They are engaged by such leading institutions as the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, English National Opera, Atlanta Opera, Mannes School of Music, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Jacobs School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory, Royal Conservatory, and the Dutch National Opera Academy. When all is said and done, operatic standards and traditions matter, historical knowledge matters, proven expertise matters.  You will not find a finer faculty in any YAP in the world today.   

Role Performance – Opera Studio members are assigned a leading or supporting role to performed in a fully staged opera performance with orchestra. Each artist is provided with vocal coaching, language, and musical rehearsals to prepare their vocal assignments. All roles are either single or double cast.

Vocal Coaching & Voice Lessons – Vocal coaching and voice lessons assist young artists to meet the technical, stylistic, and linguistic demands of the roles they are assigned. Coaching and lessons are all open format providing an extra level of proficiency for all participants.

Master Classes – Master Classes are an integral part of your training at the TMF and cover a wide variety of specialties including; Vocal Technique, Repertoire, Operatic Style, and Dramatic Interpretation.

Audition Packages – Many wonderful singers never get past the audition process. At the TMF your audition package will be Defined & Refined by leading professionals. This includes proper bios and resumes, photos, repertoire that is marketable for your current level of accomplishment, language, dramatic presentation, and proper audition attire.

Management Consultations – The TMF is the only YAP in the world that is connected to an international artist management firm. Private consultations and group classes provide young artists with first hand knowledge of what can be a very complicated career path. Management firms attending past festivals include Piper Artists Management, Stage Door Artist Management, Melos Opera Management, BIAM Artist Management, Boris Orlob Artist Management and Steve Phillips Management.

Location –  Our location in Northern Italy is truly exceptional. Located a short distance from Venice, Verona, and Lake Garda, young artists have ample opportunity to visit historical cities and to enjoy the many outdoor opportunities in the Dolomites.

Cost – Young artist training & performance programs are an investment in your future. Compared to programs in Prague, Graz, Berlin, and others you will find that the TMF is priced much lower and provides much more, making it one of the most affordable training & performance programs in the world today.

Auditions – Young Artists are accepted by Video auditions. To apply, click “Apply Now!” and fill out the application and attach your audition video. Videos should include two vocal selections of varying styles.

Acceptance – Early applications are strongly encouraged to ensure participation in the festival. Once accepted you will receive an acceptance package with pertinent information on the festival, payments, travel, housing, and information pertinent to your stay in Italy.

Deadline – The application deadline is March 31.

Program Fee – Program Fee $3,500.

Housing Fee – Housing Fee $1,500.

Administrative Fee – Administrative Fee $250.
